Stuffed Animals

Unless your girlfriend actually “likes” stuffed animals, or is 12, do not buy her a stuffed animal for Valentine's Day. Stuffed animals are what you get a girl when you don't know what else to buy her, or you've waited until the last minute and that is all that is left on the cleaned-out store shelves. A woman knows if you just bought it the last minute.

Appliances

An appliance is practical, useful, and completely impersonal. It is everything a Valentine's Day gift is NOT.Your girlfriend or wife may desperately need a new toaster or vacuum cleaner but don't dare buy one for Valentine's Day. 

A Key Chain that Says "I Love You”

It just sends a very wrong signal , is he cheap? did he just bought this? is this a re-gift? Unless you are inviting someone to move in with you, and there is a key attached, do not give a key chain for Valentine's Day.

Lingerie

(SIGNAL ALERT: PERVERT) Lingerie for Valentine's Day is a tough one. If you have not been intimate yet, or are buying a red and black teddy because you like it, don't. If you know your woman's exact sizes, the styles she likes and you know for a fact that she enjoys wearing lingerie, then go ahead and take the plunge.

Jewellery in a Ring-Sized Box

Jewellery is not bad actually it shows class but avoid giving any gift that comes in a small ring-sized box. She might think "will he or won't he ask" and you won't, can cause some upset in the mood. At a certain point in a relationship, a woman might like a ring. If your relationship is at this stage, and yes, you will know, because it probably already came up in conversation.

Sugar-Free Chocolate

Unless your woman is an actual diabetic, never ever give her sugar-free or "diabetic" chocolates. She will not take it kindly.

Need a time machine? Some guys like to cast a wide net in their Valentine's Day pursuits. So if you are giving gifts to more than one woman, be sure the right name is attached.
